Was Henry VIII knocked out in a jousting accident?

On 24 January 1536, at Greenwich, the 44-year-old king was thrown from his armoured horse, which fell with him. The imperial ambassador Chapuys wrote that everyone thought it a miracle he survived. A report sent from Rome by Dr Pedro Ortiz, at second hand, said he lay two hours without speaking. He never jousted again, and Anne Boleyn miscarried five days later.
