Was Marie Antoinette stripped of her Austrian clothes and her dog at the French border?

Yes. On 7 May 1770 she was handed to the French on an island in the Rhine near Kehl. Madame Campan records that she was undressed entirely so she would “retain nothing belonging to a foreign Court.” Her pug, Mops, was sent back to Vienna with the Austrians. Mops was later allowed to rejoin her at Versailles, which is more than the dress got.
