The Library › Reel II · The Queen Bee

Did Cleopatra and Mark Antony really have a drinking club?

According to Plutarch, yes. They called it the Inimitable Livers and feasted each other every day. His grandfather heard from a physician, Philotas, that the royal kitchen roasted eight wild boars for about twelve guests, staggering the suppers in case Antony wanted to eat early or late. After Actium they renamed it the Partners in Death.
