Did Lincoln call his marriage “a matter of profound wonder”?
VERDICTTRUE
Yes. A week after the wedding, at the end of a letter about legal business to Samuel D. Marshall dated November 11, 1842, he wrote: “Nothing new here, except my marrying, which to me, is matter of profound wonder.” He did not elaborate. He rarely did.
